Sport For Education is an exciting joint project started by the Sven Tumba Education Fund (STEF) and
the pharmaceutical company, ASTRAZENECA, helping children receive the education which every child
should be entitled to. Using sport activities as a catalyst captures their interest in not only reading and
writing but also teaching the children teamwork and respect for each other.
The project also emphasizes the importance of “children teaching children” meaning that the valuable
education one child receive will be passed on to other children and family members who are not so fortunate
to receive school education.
The Sven Tumba Education Fund will captivate and retain the attention of children through participation in sports, while teaching reading, writing, arithmetic, and developing and nurturing qualities of respect and responsibility. To this end the organization will work directly with local, regional and international organizations and governments.
